Christian Web Hosting?

I run a web site called Peek Through The Window of the Episcopal Church (www.pttw.org). The site is hosted by the Episcopal Church Web Hosting service, a non-profit service. The person who owns the computers is leaving and ECWH was about to fold, making all of its customers find another host.

One of the first that was suggested was Christian Web Hosting. Unfortunately we got a look at their terms of service.

"You agree that your site will not have anything on it that contradicts this:
- the Bible is the only authoritative Word of God;
- the only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance and
faith in the precious blood of Jesus Christ, which is essential for personal salvation (and not through our works) ...
Your site cannot promote demonic, occult, satanic, new age or
anti-Christian values or beliefs; cannot promote pro-choice or
pro-abortion views; cannot promote gay or lesbian lifestyle views; cannot promote a distorted view or faulty interpretation of the Holy Bible (we are not talking about disputes between KJV and NIV, we are talking of obvious misconstruing of God's Word such as saying that Jesus was not God) Not only can you not have offending material on your sites, but you cannot have links to any sites with offending material on them or material listed above. If links to any offending sites are found, we
will ask you to remove them and if you do not comply, we will then have to remove your account from our server. The above listing is not complete by any means. Christian Web Host, Inc. decides what is offending to our family and we want everyone to abide by those rules. "

Frankly, these rules are very draconian and to be honest they don't define what Christianity really is. In Oregon, when the Oregon Citizens Alliance tried to pass a law that disallowed the "promotion of homosexual lifestyle" it meant that homosexuals could not have jobs in government or work for government contractors. It also removed such basic civil rights of homosexuals that I think it would be possible to shoot a gay person, state in court that the person was shot solely because they were gay, and the judge would have to let you go and couldn't punish you, because defending the civil rights of a homosexual was promotion of the 'homosexual lifestyle.' As far as I know, the homosexual lifestyle involves paying rent, feeding the family, and saving for retirement. It's not that much difference than the heterosexual lifestyle.

Short sighted Christians always give me a headache.
