Luck in the Laundry
Back when I was in Grad School my in-laws bought me a Micro Advantage Quick Drive, one of those USB memory sticks. It was great being able to store my working files on it so I could take it to and from school. I haven't had much use for it lately. I copied the St. Michael and All Angels web site onto it so I could try it out on a few other machines, but it's been sitting in a drawer for months.
Today I did laundry and saw it lying in the dryer. It was in my shirt pocket and I forgot to take it out. I ran to my computer and plugged it in to see what kind of damage was done and lo and behold it was perfectly fine.
Since I use an older iMac, drive a 1992 Rodeo, and my DVD player only plays one disc, I'm not used to this 'newfangled technology' and I don't expect it to work as well as it does.
