Did I do that?
I spent an hour yesterday working on a charcoal drawing of a bonsai tree. I was simply experimenting, basing the drawing on a tree on the cover of a book I have on the art of bonsai. After dinner I walked back into the office (where my art table is) and saw the drawing from about six feet away.
I was amazed at how good it looked. I didn't want to believe that I had actually done it. After two solid years of drawing classes and being told that I couldn't draw, I impressed myself. Looking at it now, I still like the piece.
We spent two days cleaning our bedroom. We wanted to move the bed to a different place, but we don't have the room to put the bed where we want it and put our dressers in places where we can actually open them. It didn't work but we got the room cleaned out. I threw away almost everything I did as an art student. I looked at every piece I had stashed away under the bed and decided to let them all go. I suppose I purged two years of "you can't draw" out of my life and it helped a bit.
