A refreshing look at the "right"
It's nice to see that when something truly scandalous happens, even the right wing pundits will attack, even if they're attacking one of their own. I'm referring, of course, to the Armstrong Williams scandal where he recieved close to a quarter of a million bucks to promote NCLB. Even Joe Scarborough, who I don't really like, said something on his "Real Deal" segment that should have been going through the heads of every pundit during the last election cycle:
Finally someone looked at an issue and saw a problem and didn't let political affiliation get in the way of speaking out. This is what we need more of, and Scarborough, who even talked to Ed Schultz on The Ed Schultz Show, did the right thing.
TO be fair, I don't know if Scarborough counts as a pundit. I did not know that he was a U.S. Representative, but he does not have (to my knowledge) a degree in journalism.
Now, listen, for you conservatives who always complain when I question the policy of my fellow Republicans, let me ask you this question. How would you respond if you learned that Ted Kennedy's Senate office used tax dollars to pay Dan Rather $240,000 to shamelessly promote the Abu Ghraib prison scandal? You would raise hell. And you'd demand accountability. And so am I. The same has got to be done in this instance.
