O'Reilly admitted "misquoting" Houston Chronicle
One thing I love about Bill O'Reilly is that he refuses to admit when he's wrong. It's the kind of 'truth be damned' certainty we don't need in journalism. This article is a followup to this one which describes how O'Reilly just made stuff up and complained about the stuff he made up. Now he admits to misquoting the Chronicle's editorial but was justified in his attack.
I suppose there is a small miracle in this: Bill actually said he'd made a mistake. He doesn't say that often, but when he does he is consistently saying that the mistake doesn't matter. Dan Rather's mistake mattered a lot, and Dan Rather had to go off the air. It's all part of the 'you are either with us or against us' mentality of the right wing.
I suppose that next year we will finally see the end of Democracy in the U.S.A. Democrats and Republicans will be shut out of politics in the NeoCon Revolution, and Bill O'Reilly will claim that he is like the Angel Gabriel, heralding the coming of the Kingdom of Bush.
