Conservative publisher announces plans to "Swift Boat" Hillary
Here's another article (Conservative publisher announces plans to "Swift Boat" Sen. Clinton [Media Matters for America]) that should prove that reality has taken a leave of absence. So far, Hillray Clinton has not made one mention of her intentions to run for President (at least, not that I know of) but they're already attacking her. Well, to be fair, the right wing has been attacking Hillary Clinton since Bill ran for president in 1992. I even remember a "First Lady Cookie Bake Off" on some dreadful morning program. Barbara Bush, "America's Grandmother", and full time working Mom Hillary Clinton, comparing chocolate chip cookie recipies. It's all very silly. (I actually like Barbara Bush, btw, so don't bitch about my partisanship.)
The problem with this upcoming book is that it's already the 'nail in the coffin' of an unannounced candidacy. The Right Wing wants to crucify Hillary so bad that they won't let the facts stand in their way. Edward Klein, the author, has been compared to Kitty Kelley, but with less facts. The publisher for this book has said the goal was to do to Hillary what Swift Boat Veterans did to John Kerry, which was lie, lie, and lie some more, to discredit John Kerry. Newsweek was blasted for their use of 'anonymous sources' but Klien relies on them for his own books, which are hailed on the right as great truth revealing blockbusters.
But remember the mantra of the right wing punditry: It's better to be certain than factual, and by God it's better to be certain than consistent.
